Performance
Powertrain
For the 2023 model year, the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has five trims – ES, LE, SEL, GT and GT Premium. Even so, every trim comes equipped with the same powertrain, a 2.4 liter inline-four-cylinder engine optimized with Mitsubishi Motors MIVEC timing system and paired with a 20 kwH lithium-ion battery powering a twin motor system. There is a motor attached to the front axle that generates 188 lb-ft of torque, and a motor in the rear that generates 143 lb-ft of torque. Together, the combined horsepower output is 378.
Range
Upgraded for the 2023 model year, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has greater fuel economy and range. When driving on both, the gasoline engine and electric motors, the Outlander PHEV has a combined fuel economy of 3.6Le/100km. Able to use both independently or together, the PHEV has an all-electric range (AER) of 62 kilometres. The combined total range is 687 Kilometres. Able to charge just like many other modern plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), the Outlander PHEV can get a full charge in 16 hours with a Level 1 120-volt outlet, in 6.5 hours with a Level 2 240-volt outlet, and charge up to 80-percent in just 38 minutes with a CHAdeMO DC fast charge station or use the built-in Charge Mode to charge up to 80-percent in just 94 minutes.

Exterior Features
Upgrades don’t end with the powertrain and range. Many standard features have been made available across the lineup, including automatic headlights, LED high beam headlights and LED tail lamps, side mirrors with Led turn signal indicators, a hands-free power liftgate, and rear privacy glass. One level up from the base adds heated exterior mirrors and a power panoramic sunroof package and roof rails. The base and LE trim come equipped with 18-inch wheels, and the rest of the lineup rides on 20-inch wheels.
Interior Features
The inside of the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander is just as good, adding heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 12.3-inch full digital driver display, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob to every trim. Going a little higher into tier-levels, the SEL trim starts off by adding memory to the driver seat linked with the key fob and an 8-way adjustable power passenger seat with memory, leather upholstery, and triple-zone automatic climate control. After the ES base trim, the LE gives you synthetic suede and leather seats, the SEL and GT come with Quilted Black and Light Grey Appointed Leather and the GT Premium can opt-in for a Semi-Anline leather upholstery package with massage seats.
